Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the total of United Kingdom taxes on the total income of companies including tax on distributions made by companies but net of investment grants, expressed as a percentage of total company income, for each year since 1960; and what have been the comparable figures for France and Germany over the same period.

A. United Kingdom taxes on the total income of companies, including tax on distributions (including long-term interest payments) made by companies.

B. The same less investment grants.
