The Attorney-GeneralLegal advice and assistance are readily available under the new legal aid provisions which came into force in April 1973. Legal aid for civil proceedings may be obtained, if necessary, within a matter of hours. My noble and learned Friend the Lord Chancellor is considering ways of extending the legal services available to poorer sections of the community.
