Mr. Campbellasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the number of planning applications which have been received for sites for the construction of oil rigs in west Dunbartonshire; and if he intends to leave the decisions to the county planning authority or if he will be calling them in.
§ Mr. William RossAn application for development at Portincaple was refused by the county council on 24th April. I understand that an application for development on agriculturally zoned land at Portkil Bay was submitted to the county council on 4th July. By virtue of the direction I issued on 16th May, the county council will be notifying me formally of this application and I can then consider my action.
