§ 43. Mr. Carterasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is satisfied with the 489W percentage of gross national product currently devoted to investment.
§ Mr. DellIn 1973 gross domestic fixed capital formation accounted for about 22 per cent. of gross domestic product. I am not satisfied with this figure and it is our policy to try and increase it. In particular we need to increase manufacturing investment, which accounted for only 4 per cent. of GDP last year.
