HC Deb 10 July 1974 vol 876 cc517-8W
26. Mr. Gourlay

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received regarding the operation of the time disqualification on applications for home loss payments by municipal tenants in Buckhaven and Methil; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Millan

Three—one from my hon. Friend, one from the Town Clerk of Buckhaven and Methil and one from a municipal tenant.

There is no provision under the Land Compensation (Scotland) Act 1973 for such payments to be made if not claimed timeously, but as pointed out in the replies to my hon. Friend and the town clerk, the town council has limited powers to make ex-gratia payments.
