§ Mr. CroslandThe Duke of Rutland, who has been Chairman of the East Midlands Economic Planning Council since 1971, has now relinquished his appointment on completion of his term of office. I am pleased to announce that Professor W. J. H. Butterfield, O.B.E., D.M., F.R.C.P., Vice-Chancellor of Nottingham University, has accepted my invitation to succeed the Duke of Rutland as Chairman with effect from today.
