§ Mr. Clemitsonasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will make a statement about the abolition of the Pay Board.
§ Mr. FootFollowing the enactment of the Prices Act, Section 6 of which provides a power by order, to abolish the Pay Board, I have today laid before Parliament such an order in draft.
The draft order must be approved by both Houses of Parliament before it can be made. Debates on the draft order will take place as soon as convenient dates can be arranged, following which it is hoped to bring the order into effect before the end of the month.
