§ Mr. Michael Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will set out in the OFFICIAL REPORT in tabular form, for each of the employment service offices within the Melton parliamentary constituency (a) the number of persons unemployed, by previous trade, and (b) the number of registered vacancies for each trade, at the latest convenient date.
§ Mr. John FraserThe following table shows the available information. Occupational statistics are not collected from careers offices. Unemployed people are recorded against the occupation for which they are registered, which may differ from that in which they were last employed. The vacancy statistics relate only to vacancies notified to the Melton Mowbray employment office and do not measure the total unsatisfied demand for labour.
