Mr. Ted Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will review the mileage allowance paid to community nursing staff employed in the National Health Service in view of the increase in the running costs of their vehicles.
§ Dr. OwenMileage allowances for staff employed in the National Health Service are negotiated in the General Whitley Council. Increases to the present rates of allowances are currently being discussed in the council and details of the new rates, which will be backdated, will be circulated as soon as agreement is reached.
