HC Deb 08 July 1974 vol 876 c398W
Mr. Sydney Irving

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether the independent universities fall within the category of designated courses under paragraph 7 of the Award Regulations 1970.

Mr. Gerry Fowler

I have been asked to reply.

I assume that the Question refers to the University College of Buckingham, which is not a university. Under the current Awards Regulations, courses provided by such an institution do not, unless they are specially prescribed by my right hon. Friend, fall within the category of designated courses.
