§ Mr. MeacherOne of the Department's research requirements boards has recently considered the need for strengthening sodium-sulphur battery research and it is expected that a further research programme will be set in hand shortly. The Department of the Environment is considering further support for work by British Rail as part of a co-ordinated programme. Discussions are continuing
