HC Deb 08 July 1974 vol 876 c336W
Mr. Trotter

asked the Attorney-General what representations he has received asking him to increase the limit of disposable capital for elegibility to legal aid, in particular in relation to the effects of taking into account the value of the applicant's own home.

The Attorney-General

Criticisms are made from time to time about the level of the capital limits of eligibility for legal aid, particularly in relation to the rise in house prices. The Lord Chancellor's Advisory Committee is examining afresh the whole basis of the financial limits for legal aid, including the capital limits.
