HC Deb 04 July 1974 vol 876 cc251-2W
Q22. Mr. Freud

asked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on his official visit to West Germany.

The Prime Minister

After attending Scotland's World Cup match against Brazil in Frankfurt-am-Main, I accepted Chancellor Schmidt's invitation to have an informal discussion with him in Bonn on 19th June. The talks covered the economic problems of our own countries and other European countries and the wider world economic situation, with particular reference to the impact of oil prices and of the new situation in world finance. They also reviewed in general terms the progress of the renegotiation of British terms of membership of the EEC, East-West relations, with particular reference to the Geneva Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe, and transatlantic relations.
