HC Deb 04 July 1974 vol 876 c230W
56. Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by how many the national pig breeding herd has fallen in the last 12 months; and what percentage this figure represents.

Mr. Buchan

The June census results are not yet available, but in the 12 months to April 1974 the total breeding herd in the United Kingdom fell by an estimated 100,000 head or about 10 per cent.
