HC Deb 04 July 1974 vol 876 cc273-4W
Mr. Sandelson

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will take steps to ensure that new production of older types of subsonic aircraft will be regeared to comply with United Kingdom noise certificate requirements.

Mr. Clinton Davis

The Civil Aviation Authority, after consultation with the Department, is about to publish a revised exemption, the effect of which will be that all new production of the older types of subsonic jet aircraft over 5,700 kg in weight, which receive an individual certificate of airworthiness on or after 1st January 1976, will be required to comply with the provisions of The Air Navigation (Noise Certification) Order 1970, as amended. This change reflects agreement reached in the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
