§ 64. Mr. Doigasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he proposes to take to reduce the lead content in petrol.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe petroleum industry is being asked to reduce the maximum lead content of petrol to 0.55 grams per litre by 1st November this year.
A further review of the situation will be made next year when both the trend in petrol consumption and the possible risks to health will be better understood.
