§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will identify agreements covering collaboration arrangements that have been negotiated with Governments abroad, State agencies and private companies to facilitate research and development in fast reactor technology, commercial development of fast breeder reactors and sales.
§ Mr. EadieThe United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) has196W agreements for exchanges of technical information and joint safety experiments with the French Commissariat à 1'Energie Atomique (CEA) and the German national laboratory Gesellschaft fur Kernforschung (GFK). It also has information exchanges with the Belgium Centre d'Etude de 1'Energie Nucleaire/ Studencentrum voor Kernenergie (CEN/ SCK) and the Dutch Stichtung Reactor Centrum Nederland (RCN) and Nijverheidsorganisatie TNO, and agreements with its Norwegian and Swedish counterparts.
The UKAEA also exchanges information with the United States Atomic Energy Commission under the terms of a Fast Reactor Exchange Agreement and with the Soviet Union under a general co-operation agreement with the USSR States Committee on the Uses of Atomic Energy. In addition, there is a regular exchange of fast reactor information, supported by visits and review meetings, with the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation of Japan and the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute.
The Central Electricity Generating Board, British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. and the Nuclear Power Group Ltd. also participate in international collaborative arrangements relating to fast reactors.
