HC Deb 03 July 1974 vol 876 cc180-1W
Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give an assurance that the planning of the Huntlyburn Hospital is keeping to the time table announced by his predecessor.

Mr. William Ross

As my hon. Friend the Minister of State said in the Adjournment debate on 9th April 1974—[Vol. 872, c. 398]—there is no commitment to a timetable for the execution of the Borders District General Hospital, not least because of the capital expenditure reductions announced on 17th December 1973. The planning stage now reached by the Borders Health Board and the Building Division of the Common Services Agency is consistent with the hospital remaining in Band III of the Scottish hospital building programme.
