Mr. John Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is the average number of patients allocated to dentists in Irlam; and how this compares with the average in the North West Region and the national average;

(2) what is the average number of patients allocated to dentists in Newton le Willows, Merseyside; and how this compares with the average in the North West Region and the national average,

(3) what is the average number of patients allocated to dentists, in parish council areas, for that part of Warrington situated in the Newton constituency; and how this compares with the average in the North West Region and the national average;

(4) what is the average number of patients allocated to dentists in Golborne, Wigan; and how this compares with the average in the North West Region and the national average;

(5) what is the average number of patients allocated to dentists in Haydock, Merseyside, and how this compares with

the average in the North West Region and the national average.

Under general dental services arrangements patients are not allocated to a particular dentist but may seek treatment from participating dentists anywhere. The population per dentist providing general dental services from surgeries within the areas in question is:
