HC Deb 03 July 1974 vol 876 c159W
33. Mr. Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a progress report on the action he is taking to expedite decisions on objections to compulsory purchase orders.

Mr. John Silkin

The average waiting period for inquiries into housing compulsory purchase orders has been cut from between eight and nine months last year to around six months, and decisions on delayed orders are being issued as quickly as possible.
