asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to be able to take a decision about the project for a bypass at Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

With the introduction of the new grant system from 1st April 1975 normal road programming arrangements have ceased. Accordingly, priority for this scheme becomes a matter for the highway authority, Bedfordshire County Council, within the framework of its transport policy and programme.
