HC Deb 02 July 1974 vol 876 c113W
Mr. Clemitson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment in how many cases brought under the unfair dismissals provisions of the Industrial Relations Act has re-engagement been recommended by industrial tribunals or the National Industrial Relations Court; and what percentage this number represents of all successful cases brought.

Mr. Booth

In the period from 28th February 1972 to 31st March 1974 there were 2,386 successful cases brought under the unfair dismissals provisions and in 135—or 5.7 per cent.—of these the tribunals recommended re-engagement. The National Industrial Relations Court recommended re-engagement in the case of Shipside v. Ruthin.
