HC Deb 02 July 1974 vol 876 cc153-5W
Mr. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what the estimated cost of completing the Pirnhall to Bellsdyke, and Bellsdyke Road sections of the Stirling link motorways was in November 1973, is now, and will be at the earliest start date; and whether he will, in each case, give a breakdown of indentifiable expenditure;

(2) when he expects work to commence on (1) the Pirnhall to Bellsdyke,

those local authorities which have received borrowing consent for council house modernisation schemes since he recommenced the granting of borrowing consent for this purpose; and if he will state the amount of borrowing consent which was requested and granted in each case.

Mr. William Ross

The figures for the period from 10th April 1974 to 26th June 1974 are:

and (2) the Bellsdyke Road sections of the Stirling link motorways.

Mr. William Ross

In November 1973 the estimated cost of the Longdyke to Pirnhall and the Bellsdyke Road sections of the Stirlingshire Link Motorways was just over £10 million. Currently it is assessed at about £13½ million. The design requires the scheme to be carried out as a single work and the cost of each of the two sections is about half of the total. As it is not possible to say when these schemes might start, no forward estimate of costs on this basis can be made at present.
