§ Mr. Brayasked the Secretary of State for Industry (1) if he will list which areas, apart from Merseyside, have asked to be redesignated as special development areas;
(2) what reply he has given to areas other than Merseyside who have asked to be redesignated as special development areas.
§ Mr. HefferThere have been representations of various kinds from a number of areas. In considering the case for upgrading Merseyside we are naturally taking account of the case for upgrading other areas and the implications for the assisted areas as a whole. No decisions have yet been taken on this subject.
