HC Deb 02 July 1974 vol 876 cc73-4W
26. Mr. Burden

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will now arrange for the construction of nuclear submarines for defensive purposes at Chatham Dockyard in view of the United Kingdom's own need for more of these vessels and the potential export market with other NATO countries.

Mr. Judd

No; our current arrangements for submarine construction are adequate and we have already a full work load for Chatham Dockyard.
