Income Tax (Travel-to-Work Relief)

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what annual loss to the Exchequer he estimates would result from allowing employed persons relief from income tax on expenses incurred by them in travelling to work.

I regret that the information on which to base an estimate is not available, but the cost would certainly be very substantial.
