HC Deb 02 July 1974 vol 876 cc138-9W
Mr. Dixon

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with respect to the 667 people who had applied by 17th June to remain in the United Kingdom under the terms of the amnesty which he announced on 11th April, how many dependants of these people have been notified to him; and what is his estimate of the total number of dependants of these people.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

Most of the 667 people who up to 17th June had applied to remain have yet to be interviewed. The 43 people who have been given indefinite leave to remain have said that they have 115 dependants elegible to join them and in each case the claim will have to be certified if they apply to come to this country.
