§ Mr. Batesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will take steps to provide a comprehensive education service for gipsies of school age.
§ Mr. ArmstrongThe provision of education for children of school age is the responsibility of local education authorities. If it appears to a local education authority that any arrangements which they propose for the education of gipsies require the approval or assistance of my right hon. Friend, he will be ready to consider the matter.
