asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of those local authorities in the West Midlands region who have so far failed to comply with the Caravan Sites Act 1968.

Outside London the duty to provide accommodation for gipsies rests with the county councils. None in the West Midlands has yet satisfied the Secretary of State that it has made adequate provision. The position as notified to me is:
