HC Deb 01 July 1974 vol 876 c52W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will indicate when he proposes to increase the fees payable to legally qualified and lay reporters of public local inquiries in Scotland to bring them to the level of those prevailing in England so that when a reporter based in Scotland conducts an inquiry in the north of England his terms of engagement remain unaltered.

Mr. William Ross

Arrangements for the appointment of reports for public local inquiries in Scotland are not identical with those in England, but I keep levels of fees under review and am considering the case for an early increase.
