asked the Secretary of State for Employment what action he is taking to resolve inter-union disputes at North Sea oil supply and fabricating yards in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

My Department's conciliation and advisory service is readily available to give assistance and advice to parties involved in any industrial dispute situations.

In any case of the recognition dispute at MacDermotts (Scotland) Ardersier the matter is being dealt with through the Disputes Committee procedure of the TUC.
