48. Mr. Milne

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will give a general direction to the National Coal Board to revise its purchasing procedures, in view of its recently issued report on the subject.

Mr. Eadie

The NCB has already accepted some of the recommendations in the report and is giving further study to others in conjunction with recommendations made by the Select Committee on Nationalised Industries in the report on the purchasing of powered roof supports and spares by the NCB which was published on 26th June.
