§ Mr. Peter Mills1,253 people have been released from detention or internment during the period 10th August 1971 to 28th January 1974. This figure includes 65 people whose release under my right hon. Friend's statutory powers of selective release took place on 20th and 21st December last and 18 people released by the Commissioners in the period 22nd December 1973 to 28th January 1974.
