HC Deb 31 January 1974 vol 868 cc154-5W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what consultations he has had with the Australian High Commissioner and the Agent-General for Queensland on the need for assistance following the declaration of a disaster area in Queensland; what action he has taken or will be taking; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Blaker

My right hon. Friend sent messages of sympathy to the Governors of Queensland and New South Wales. Our High Commission in Canberra has asked the Australian Government whether any assistance can usefully be provided from United Kingdom resources.
