asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the number of office development permits granted in Bedfordshire in the last 12 months ; and what was the area covered and the percentage of successful applicants.

Between 1st October 1972 and 30th September 1973, the latest period for which figures are available, 25 office development permits, representing 86 per cent. of total applications, were granted for Bedfordshire, including Luton, covering 507,000 sq. ft. of floor space.
