Mr. Deakins

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the total payments to the EEC in 1973 ; and what were the United Kingdom receipts from the EEC under each appropriate heading.

Provisional figures for transactions in 1973 show payments to the Communities' budget of £181 million, and receipts of £12.9 million in respect of collection costs of the Communities' "own resources", £63.3 million from the Guarantee Section of FEOGA and £1 million in respect of Euratom research.

In addition, the Government made payments of £23 million to the capital and reserves of the European Investment Bank and £7.9 million to the reserves of the ECSC.
