§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will indicate the employment figures covered by the Bedford local office giving the proportion of those unemployed (a) under 30, (b) under 45 and (c) 45 years of age and over.
§ Mr. ScottAt June 1972, the latest date for which employment figures are available, there were 63,100 employees in employment in the Bedford employment office area. At July 1973, the most recent month for which there is a detailed age analysis of the unemployment figures, the total number unemployed in the area was 499, of whom 32.7 per cent. were aged under 30, 16.2 per cent. were 30 and under 45, and 51.1 per cent. were 45 and over.
