§ Mr. RaisonIn the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire (Holland and Kesteven), Nottinghamshire and Rutland, and the county boroughs within them, there were in January 1973 474 boarders at 12 maintained secondary schools and 492 boarders of secondary age at four direct grant schools ; there were 4,339 boarders, many of them of secondary age, at independent schools in this area. In Northamptonshire there were 141 boarders at two maintained secondary schools and 1,736 at independent schools.
