§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for Employment if his Department will intervene to help resolve the dispute at the Gainsborough Fish Restaurant in Hull ; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkConciliation officers of my Department were in touch with representatives of the employer and the Transport and General Workers' Union during the course of this dispute. Following an approach to the National Industrial Relations Court by seven of the workers a hearing took place on 14th January at which my conciliation officers were present. As an outcome of this hearing agreement was reached for the restaurant to reopen and for normal working to be resumed on 18th January.
