§ Mrs. FennerIt is hoped that two orders to improve the existing safeguards for the welfare of farm animals and horses, and of poultry, during transport will be made this year. The proposals for poultry would cover carriage by air as well as by other means.
The Transit of Animals (General) Order which came into effect on 1st September 1973 provides general safeguards for the welfare of all warm and cold-blooded species during transport by air as well as by land and sea.
