§ Mr. ChannonThe Government encourage local authorities to bring forward schemes for the building of houses for sale to meet local needs for lower priced houses, such as those of young married couples, which are not fully satisfied by private developers, and to make use of the permitted discounts from the unrestricted market value in determining selling prices.
On house prices generally, it is important for all house purchasers that prices should stabilise and the indications are that this is happening.
