Sir Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether, in pursuance of his policy for the continued expansion of British agriculture, he anticipates that the price review in February will continue to permit expansion at the levels which have been attained in recent years.
§ Mr. Anthony StodartIt continues to be Government policy to encourage the expansion of efficient farming, and the determinations to be made following the review will be framed accordingly.
§ 54. Mr. David Priceasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give the figures for the changes in the output of British agriculture for the two periods 1964 to 1970 and 1970 to 1973 measured in real terms and as a percentage.
§ Mr. Anthony StodartThe net product of United Kingdom agriculture increased—at 1964–66 average prices—by £44 million or 5 per cent. between 1964–65 and 1969–70 and by £99 million or 11 per cent. between 1969–70 and 1972–73.
