asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give details of any research work already undertaken on the relationship between road accidents and faulty eyesight; and if he has any plans for future research into this subject.

In view of its length I am sending my hon. Friend a list of the relevant studies. The Transport and Road Research Laboratory is undertaking further research in co-operation with the University of California.
