§ Mr. Dixonasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many of the 2 million workers for whom wage settlements had been approved or screened by the Pay Board by the end of 1973 were covered solely either by the figure of £2.25 per week per head and /or by an improvement in holidays of less than the equivalent of four weeks a year; and what has been the average percentage increase for other workers in wage settlements, excluding efficiency payments; approved or screened by the Pay Board by the end of 1973;
(2) what is his estimate of the average percentage increase for all the 2 million workers in wage settlements, excluding efficiency payments, approved or screened by the Pay Board by the end of 1973; and when he expects to have similar information available on the settlements for the further 2 million workers notified to the Pay Board by the end of 1973 but not yet approved or screened.
§ Mr. ScottThis information is not available. Under Schedule 1 to the 349W Counter-Inflation Act the Pay Board is required to make quarterly reports to my right hon. Friend on the way it has discharged its functions under Part II of the Act. In accordance with the Act these reports are laid before Parliament. The next report will cover the three months from 1st December 1973 to 28th February 1974 which is the first complete quarterly period to fall within stage 3.
