71. Sir J. Langford-Holt

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of the inconvenience caused to parties by the delay in deciding on the operation of oil storage tanks in Alma Street, Shrewsbury, which was the subject of a public inquiry on 13th September 1973, he will take steps to expedite his decision on this matter stating how the delay in reaching a decision in this case compares with the average delay in deciding on reports of public inquiries.

Mr. Eldon Griffiths

The decision has now been issued. The appeal to my right hon. and learned Friend was dismissed. The time taken between the lodging of the appeal and the decision was 44 weeks.
