asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many individual complaints he has received from the public about the Egyptian Arab Republic's proposal to accredit Mr. Shazly as Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

We have recieved 8 letters from members of the public and 28 letters from Members of Parliament, of which 14 referred to representations from the same source, about the nomination of General Shazly as the new Egyptian Ambassador.
