§ Mr. Meacherasked the Minister for Energy, in addition to the 7 million units of electricity saved each week since 1st January as a result of the 10.30 p.m. terminating of television viewing, how much has been saved by other restrictions on the broadcasting media; what percentage these savings represent of total electricity consumption in these weeks; and what percentage they represent of million tons coal equivalent held by power stations.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThere are no other restrictions on the broadcasting media but the prohibition on the use of electricity for heating—except for a period of eight hours at night—affects television studios. The saving achieved by this cannot be separately identified.
