§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on his policy towards the use of overseas aid to assist the problems of underdeveloped countries in the next 12 months.
§ Mr. WoodI intend to use the resources made available by Parliament for the aid programme so that they will be as effective as possible. Expenditure arising from past commitments and from our established relationships with other donors and recipients will absorb most of the programme for the next 12 months. In framing future programmes, I shall naturally continue to take account of changes in the relative circumstances of developing countries.
