§ Mr. DeanThe time taken by the Department to prepare and forward to the office of the National Insurance Commissioner an application for leave to appeal to the commissioner against a decision of the Attendance Allowance Board is currently about seven weeks. It is, however, for the commissioner to decide whether or not he will hold an oral hearing of an application and to fix the date of any such hearing.
