Mr. Stratton Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is his policy regarding answering Questions in the House on matters which are, since 1st January 1974, the responsibility of the Northern Ireland Executive.

Mr. Pym

Under the Northern Ireland Constitution Act a considerable range of matters was devolved to the Northern Ireland Executive and Assembly. It is right that such matters should now be dealt with in the Assembly, rather than in this House.
